Won Hyun-jun and Lee Soo-jin are confirmed to have appeared together in the Disney+ series ‘Hyper Knife,’ released in 2025. However, as of 2026-09-15, neither the exact date they began dating nor whether they became romantically involved during filming has been officially disclosed.
Following the two actors’ wedding announcement, several reports highlighted their connection through ‘Hyper Knife,’ naturally raising questions such as, “Did they meet while working on the series?” and “What roles did they play?”
The Series They Both Appeared In Was ‘Hyper Knife’
Their confirmed professional connection is the Disney+ original series ‘Hyper Knife.’
The medical thriller follows the story of Jung Se-ok, a once-brilliant doctor, who reunites with her mentor Choi Deok-hee, the man responsible for her downfall. Park Eun-bin played Jung Se-ok, while Sol Kyung-gu portrayed Choi Deok-hee.
Lee Soo-jin’s agency profile also lists Disney+’s ‘Hyper Knife’ among her acting credits for 2025.
Recent reports announcing their marriage have likewise repeatedly noted that the two actors appeared together in ‘Hyper Knife’ last year.
Won Hyun-jun Played ‘Mr. Min’
If you watched ‘Hyper Knife’ but cannot immediately remember Won Hyun-jun, think of Mr. Min.
Mr. Min, played by Won Hyun-jun, is a broker who arranges illegal surgeries while Jung Se-ok lives as a so-called ‘shadow doctor.’ He appears as a character operating within the world surrounding the protagonist, Jung Se-ok.
Viewers who first noticed Won Hyun-jun in the recent series ‘Manager Kim’ may find his portrayal quite different. In ‘Manager Kim,’ he played Kang Guk-cheol, nicknamed ‘Mole Cricket,’ while in ‘Hyper Knife,’ he appeared as Mr. Min.
Can We Conclude That They Met and Started Dating While Filming ‘Hyper Knife’?
Based on the information currently available, it would be difficult to draw that conclusion.
It is confirmed that both actors appeared in ‘Hyper Knife.’ Some reports have described the series as a connection between the two.
However, an important distinction must be made.
Appearing in the same production is a confirmed fact. But exactly when they first met, when they began dating, and whether their relationship developed into a romance during the filming of ‘Hyper Knife’ were not specifically disclosed by either actor in their wedding announcements.
Therefore, the most accurate understanding at present is that ‘Hyper Knife’ is a confirmed professional connection between the two actors.
The Two Actors Are Reportedly 9 Years Apart in Age
Another detail that attracted attention following their wedding announcement was their age difference.
Recent reports identified Won Hyun-jun as 46 years old and Lee Soo-jin as 37 years old, describing them as an acting couple with a 9-year age gap. Lee Soo-jin’s agency profile lists her birth year as 1989.
Although both are actors, they began their careers at different times.
Won Hyun-jun made his debut in 2009 through KBS 2TV’s ‘Iris,’ while Lee Soo-jin debuted in 2019 through OCN’s ‘The Running Mates: Human Rights.’ Won Hyun-jun subsequently appeared in productions including ‘Itaewon Class’ and ‘Bad and Crazy,’ while Lee Soo-jin appeared in ‘Miss Monte-Cristo,’ ‘Delightfully Deceitful,’ and ‘When the Phone Rings,’ among others.
What Has Been Confirmed About Their Relationship So Far?
Their marriage has been officially confirmed. Won Hyun-jun’s agency, Prain TPC, announced that the couple will marry on 2026-10-04, and both Won Hyun-jun and Lee Soo-jin personally shared the wedding news through their respective social media accounts.
However, apart from the marriage announcement, relatively few details about the development of their romantic relationship have been made public.
The currently confirmed information can therefore be summarized in one sentence: ‘Won Hyun-jun and Lee Soo-jin share a professional connection through their appearance in ‘Hyper Knife,’ released in 2025, but exactly when they first met and began dating has not been disclosed.’
